Kiisaru: The Secret of Haruka’s Past! Part Two.

I awoke, panting ad sweating. The dream…so real. Kiisaru’s death was haunting me again. Michiru hovered over me, looking worried. I felt a pang of guilt. I’d never told her about my past, and she, not wanting to pry, had never asked. “I’m all right, my Michiru.” I told her. “Just a dream.” I ran my fingers through my short blonde hair.

“Must have been an unpleasant one, Haruka. You were trembling so badly I thought you were having a seizure of some sort.” she said.

I smiled reassuringly. “Well, it’s over now and I’m with you.” I said, winking at her. She blushed faintly, smiling at me. Her smile was so warm and comforting, so trusting. I had to glance away. I had broken that trust.

“Haruka?” she asked. “Is something the matter? You haven’t been quite yourself lately.” Michiru was right. I had been rather…distant, lately.

“I’m all right, my love.” I told her, and gently took her hand. She smiled and kissed me lightly on the cheek. I looked into her deep blue eyes. Her sea-green tresses rested gently on her shoulders.

I got out of bed and dressed. When I was fully dressed, and my hair was combed, I turned back to Michiru. She smiled and stood. I smiled back and walked to her, wrapping a long arm around her shoulders.

“What would you like to do today?” I asked her. Her smile grew even brighter. “Would you like it if we went to the beach, Haruka?” she asked.

“With you? Why wouldn’t I? Of course we’ll go.” I said cheerfully. She stood on tiptoe and set her lips sweetly on mine. I embraced her tightly. I don’t know how long we kissed, only that it felt much too short. She pulled away, her eyes shining happily. I felt that pang of guilt return. I’d have to tell her soon. I couldn’t keep secrets from her. It was far too painful. “Haruka?” she asked.

I blinked. “Sorry, just thinking.” I said. “Well, we ought to go get breakfast.” She said. I nodded. We went to the kitchen. Both of us ate fairly quickly, then went back to our room to fetch swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, and other such things. I grabbed my car keys from my dresser and headed down to the convertible, Michiru right behind me. I jumped in, jamming the key in the ignition, and the engine roared to life. I put a quick arm around Michiru in a brief hug, then began the drive toward the beach.

That’s all for now! Stay tuned for part 3!
