A piercing scream ripped through the night air. I shot up in bed and looked to my left. Michiru wasn’t there. I leapt up, grabbing my henshin stick on my way. I transformed as I ran. Michiru was in the kitchen, pinned beneath a daihmon by the throat, her henshin stick just beyond her reach.
“Uranus-“she choked. The daihmon whirled to look at me. It lunged towards me. I ducked away and ran for the door. It chased after and I threw open the door, leaping off the balcony and landing in the apartment parking lot. The daihmon followed. “World Shaking!” I attacked, and it shriveled. “Deep Submerge!” I heard Neptune’s call and the daihmon was defeated.
“How did that thing get into our apartment?” I asked her. “I don’t know, I just went for a glass of water and there it was.” She said, her voice cracking slightly. She detransformed. “Thank you for saving me.” She said hoarsely. I detransformed myself and hugged her. “No problem.” I said in a low voice, and kissed her. My lips made their way to her neck, then even lower, to her shoulder. She giggled. “Haruka, we’re still in the parking lot.” She admonished. “Then let’s take this back upstairs.” I murmured.
We made our way back up. I had a difficult time managing the stairs. I had landed wrong during my leap from the balcony and hurt my leg. Michiru noticed that I was limping. “Haruka, you’re hurt!” she gasped.
“It’s nothing, Michiru. I’ll be all right.” I assured her. We got back to our apartment and shut and locked the door. “Now, where was I?” I teased.
Our lips met, and mine soon found their way down Michiru’s neck, along her shoulder, then returned to her mouth as I unbuttoned her nightgown. She giggled faintly as the nightgown slid to the floor. She pulled away just long enough to crawl into bed, gesturing for me to join her. I smiled and obeyed, wrapping my arms around her as I held her. Before long, she fell asleep in my arms. Soothed by the warmth of her body, I soon fell asleep, too.
I awoke the next morning to Michiru’s soft voice. “Haruka? I’m going to the store. Do you need anything?” I sat up. “No, I’m all right. Will you be long?” “Not at all. I’ll be home in just a short while.” She pulled the car keys from a pocket and left the room. I dragged myself out of bed, yawning.
Walking into the bathroom, I stripped off my nightclothes. I turned on the faucet in the shower, and then flipped the switch. Hot water seared my skin. I yelped, turning down the temperature. The water cooled and I stepped inside. I sighed, resting my head on the shower wall and closing my eyes. I then cleaned up as best I could. After dressing, I combed my hair. It dripped into my eyes, sopping wet. I didn’t get a chance to dry it, however, because our doorbell rang.
I bolted for the door. Glancing out the window, I saw a girl. She looked to be about fourteen, with aqua-coloured hair to her waist. There was something familiar about her that I didn’t quite get. I opened the door. “May I help you?” I asked her. “Hello. I’m looking for Michiru Kaiou. Do you know where she might be?”
